The average worldwide life expectancy in years, as of 2020.
That’s six years higher than it was in the year 2000—though chronic, non-communicable diseases and conditions are up from back then, accounting for ten of the top twenty causes of death in 2020. In 2000, they only accounted for four, with the other spots filled by communicable diseases.
